  First, that comes to mind is that Neptune's Net is further than I initially believed while traveling from Los Angeles. I thought it was in Malibu, but you have to drive past the Los Angeles County line, and it's within five minutes driving distance. That said, you have to drive past Zuma Beach and through the Malibu community.
  
  If you're ever on a drive on the PCH, Neptune's Net is an excellent pitstop for food, liquor, and a potty break. Also, if you're a fan of The Fast and Furious film, this place is a homage to where Dom and Brian head to after smoking a Ferrari in a street race. From there, it was a wrap.
  
  Drive slow as you are approaching the restaurant. There is a small entry to the parking lot, but the parking is NOT free. If you're in no rush, I suggest parking on the street where you don't have to pay. Be careful and watch the cars zooming past PCH. Also, watch out for the bikers in the vicinity. This is a very popular meetup spot among the biker community.
  
  During busy hours, the line can get long. There are two separate stations - Station 1 has fried dishes, soup, salad, and sandwiches, while Station 2 has ceviche, and steamed lobsters and crab.  
  
  Don't expect any fancy restrooms at this place. It's a grouped porta-potty by the parking because Malibu is known to have poor plumbing.
  
  What we ordered:
  WORLD FAMOUS CLAM CHOWDER - I ordered a pint, and I split it in half. This isn't the first time I've seen people use the word "World Famous" to describe clam chowders, but I'm pretty sure this isn't world-famous. The soup was tasty and hearty, packed with clams and potato.    
  
  MAHI MAHI SALAD - A huge disappointment. It is overpriced for the amount of fish meat that was on top of the salad. It was so small that I had to ask and make sure that this was a general portion given on a salad. The person answered that they go by weight at 6 oz. In my eyes, it looked small.
  
  I would give three-stars for the food, but five-stars for the ambiance. Average it out, four-stars.

  I was with my Brother, Nephew and Son on a Seafood tasting trip in Malibu!
  I had never been here before. First time!
  I enjoyed the food we had and the atmosphere!
  
  Great place to go to when in the mood for seafood!

  We come here once in a while to get our seafood fix, catch a cool ocean breeze and watch the bikers.
  
  Don't expect a traditional restaurant it is more a grab yo drink, order and find your own table and seat. It helps when you are in a group to keep an eye out for tables.  Don't worry you never have to wait tooo long. People are always coming and going. Their food is pretty good but I feel it is pretty pricey.  3 tacos were 13 dollars yikes... they were good but not 13 dollars good. nowhatimean. If you want something healthier and not fried they do have fresh salads, ceviche and grilled fish.
  
  You can also pick drinks from the fridges. Plenty of beer and other kind of drink selections.They also sell margaritas if that's what you want. They have porta pottys that don't flush but they have an attendant that flushes them. I know weird!
  
  Plenty of parking on PCH and they also have their own lot that charges $4. Nah, I think I will park on the street. Will come back!

  I enjoy coming here. It is very nice to enjoy the sunset with a beer and your favorite seafood meal. I recommend the blue crab. It is not cheap but delicious steamed and with drawn butter.
  
  It is a bit out of the way but a nice drive at the right times. Weeknights are less crowded but be aware that the fresh seafood is brought in only once a week for the weekend (just learned this the hard way). Fresh shell fish is live so not concerned about the freshness just the availability.
  
  Visited on a Wednesday about 7 PM for the blue crab. Last time it was flown in from WA, but that's another story (cooler waters there). We saw the sign at the entrance that the Fish of the Day was Blue Crab. Perfect! So we go inside to see the live crab selection and were told they have been out of crab since the weekend. What the...! It's Wednesday now and the Fish of the Day sign still says Blue Crab. Okay, so we get the seafood plate which is clams, mussels, and shrimp. I'm good with that. Add a bowl of clam chowder.
  
  The clams were good size but very tough. Maybe just overcooked, I don't know but I was not a fan of them. Almost downgraded this review, but could not do that just for the clams. The mussels were okay and the shrimp was good. I have only tried the fresh fish section not the grill. Clam chowder was good as well. Hot clam chowder is nice when the evening is on the cool side, which is pretty often here even when the weather is 90+ everywhere else.
  
  Ambiance is casual beachy, or biker beachy if the bikers are there. Sunsets are always nice and the evening weather is usually cool and sometimes windy so bring a sweater.
  
  I'm sure I will be back, but Malibu Seafood a few miles south is more consistently good and they have a good selection of fresh fish there. Back to the Net...there were people enjoying a burger here which I thought was odd for a seafood place, but I bet a burger and beer across the street from the beach would be quite enjoyable. Hmmmm

  OVERHYPED. OVERPRICED. TOURIST TRAP.
  
  Been wanting to come here since I saw Vin Diesel and Paul Walker eat here in the first Fast and the Furious movie. They were also featured on Iron Man.
  
  So I finally make it here with my two teenage sons on Saturday 8/3/19. We figured since we were at Santa Monica Pier, we would just jump on the Pacific Coast Highway since its a straight shot. Not only was it a 30 mile drive, the traffic made it even a longer trip. So about an hour and 15 minutes.
  
  So we finally get to the place and it was packed. You have to pay 5 bucks to park here and its cash only. The parking attendant said it was busy like this everyday.
  
  Things you need to know before going inside:
  If you have a party of 4 or more I suggest you send one person to start scouting for an open table. You get in line, order, then find a seat. They will call out your number for you to come pick up. There are two sides you can order from. The most popular side is the things that are mostly fried like calamari, fries, onion rings, fish, etc. The other side are steamed items like clams, shrimp, etc.
  
  I got the grilled Ahi Tuna Plate ($16.25), my oldest son got the Grilled Mahi Mahi Plate ($16.25) and 3 Grilled Fish Tacos meal ($13.50), and my youngest son got the Fish n Chips Basket ($11.50). I also added a side of Calamari ($10.25) to try.
  
  Tastewise everything just seemed mediocre. Not any better than Baja Fresh or Rubio's. Service was surprisingly fast. The line to order may be long but it moves rather quickly. We waited about 15 minutes for our food which wasn't too bad given it was very busy.
  
  In closing you can see I spent about 80 bucks for mediocre food. This place is so not worthy of going out of your way . Even if you are anywhere near the area, I would consider going somewhere else. Not only is this place a one and done, think long and hard before you go especially after reading this review. As an annoying bonus, you have douchebags constantly revving the engines on their souped up cars as they drive by on the highway. Yeah, you're cool for making a lot of noise that annoys everybody trying to eat here. I hope you blow your engine out and learn your lesson. Oh, and the bathrooms are port o potties located outside of the restaurant. Nuff said there.
